Boothbay Harbor

Boothbay Harbor is one of the busiest transient harbours on the Maine coast — a deep, well-protected pocket off the Sheepscot with an approach that is straightforward in almost any conditions, which is why so many boats stop here.

The harbour proper runs on moorings and launch service rather than slips, and in July and August it fills. The quieter yards sit outside the town harbour, around Southport and West Boothbay, and that is where most of the haul-out and winter work happens.

It is also a genuine boatbuilding town, not just a stop, and the yard capacity here is disproportionate to the size of the place.
